A different kind of concert

Wednesday, July 26th, 2017

This September sees Soho-based Yamaha Music London hosting a very different kind of piano concert series. Four concerts throughout September will feature an eclectic combination of jazz and classical performed by acclaimed pianists Thomasz Zyrmont, Eren Önsoy, Andrew Zolinsky and Varvara Tarasova.

The twist is that all performances will take place on Yamaha’s award-winning ‘Silent Pianos’, with the audience experiencing the music through headphones, remotely and wirelessly. Additionally, at some Silent shows, audiences will be free to roam around performance spaces enjoying the music from a variety of visual and audio perspectives.

The events are sure to prove equally popular amongst discerning music fans and the technology-curious. This unique combination of the traditional acoustic piano and the latest state-of-the art digital music technology will be put through its paces by of some of the UK’s finest up-and-coming piano artists. “This is a rare chance for our guests to hear virtuoso musicians up-close and personal, whilst experiencing the next chapter in piano innovation,” said Yamaha Music London’s Nigel Hill.

The concerts take place on September 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, and will all start at 6.30pm. Tickets are free of charge, but due to the intimate nature of the Yamaha Music London recital room, limited to 40 per performance, so book early to avoid disappointment.
