Festival in New York cancelled.

Ebola Hits New York Music Festival!

Monday, October 27th, 2014

New York music festival CMJ Music Marathon has cancelled a scheduled showcase event due to an ebola scare. As NME reports, New York City had its first positive case of Ebola confirmed yesterday, with Dr. Craig Spencer testing positive for the disease. The previous night Spencer, who had recently been working in Guinea for Doctors Without Borders and treating Ebola patients, had attended a gig at one of the events hosting CMJ, thought to either be the Gutter or Brooklyn Bowl.

Brooklyn Bowl stayed open last night, posting the following statement on Twitter:

“We are aware of the reports that an individual who may possibly be infected with Ebola attended an event in Williamsburg last night … Brooklyn Bowl has not been contacted by authorities and has no further information.”
