Australian Pianist to Play his Home Town
Virtuoso pianist Lachlan Glen will make a special visit to his home town on a rare Australian tour with vocalist Kyle Bielfield.
The duo Bielfield and Glen released a debut album, Stopping By, in 2013 before touring the US.
They are now in the midst of their first Australian tour and will perform at Camden Civic Centre on Saturday at 7.30pm.
The two musicians met as fellow students at the world’s top conservatory, The Juilliard School in New York City, where they trained together for two years. The Ambrosia 14 tour is named after one of their original songs. The production is a sensory stimulating spectacular, Glen (pictured) said.
The duo will perform re-imagined folk, pop and classical hits as well as their original songs. “We do some funky covers of favourite songs by Simon and Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra, Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton and others, and also a couple of our own tunes,” Bielfield said. “The show essentially rediscovers the tale of The Wizard of Oz, travelling through common human themes from love and adventure to heartbreak, comfort and ultimately hope.”
