Pianist Tomasz Herbut to Perform in Thailand
Polish pianist Tomasz Herbut will make his Thailand debut this Friday with a commemorative concert for the anniversary for the late HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.
Organised by the Fund for Classical Music Promotion, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, the piano recital will see Tomasz fill the small hall of Thailand Cultural Centre.
Tomasz possesses an extraordinarily wide spectrum of knowledge of both the Romantic literature for the piano and the Lied repertoire. His programmes encompass such forgotten composers as Lekeu, Zarebski, Paderewski as well as Chausson, Szymanowski and Bloch among others.
The maestro has performed in Japan, Korea, South American and in most European countries, including Switzerland where he has lived since 1984. He is a regular soloist, as well as a chamber music artist, at many international festivals.
Since 1990, Tomasz has dedicated himself to teaching, leading the piano class at the Berne University of the Arts. Many of his students are prize-winners of national and international competitions. He also gives masterclasses all over Europe, as well as in both America and Asia.
