Acclaimed Solo Pianist Returns for Concert in Saffron Walden
Remarkable young pianist Clare Hammond returns to Saffron Walden to give a concert in the world-class Saffon Hall later this month.
Acclaimed by The Daily Telegraph as a pianist of “amazing power and panache”, Hammond has performed across Europe, Russia and Canada.
A favourite at Saffron Walden & District Music Club, her career has continued to blossom since her previous recital there.
She was awarded a doctorate for her study of works written for the left hand; her recital on Saturday, February 15 includes two such works by Bach and Scriabin.
Favourite pieces by Mendelssohn, Schubert, Mozart, Satie are also included in her varied and balanced programme, ending with a lively finale from Argentina.
The rising young British pianist, musicologist and talented public speaker effortlessly blends virtuosic performance and fascinating introductions.

Membership season tickets allow free entry; for a price of £20 a half-yearly membership can be purchased on the night to include the three remaining concerts in the club’s 2013/4 season.
