Memorial For Pianist Joshua Wolff
A memorial is planned for jazz pianist and singer Joshua Ryan Wolff at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cornish College of the Arts, Poncho Concert Hall located in Kerry Hall, 710 E. Roy St., Seattle.
Wolff, 39, died May 19 of pancreatic cancer, which had been diagnosed only two weeks before his death. He grew up in Lake Stevens, graduated from Lake Stevens High School and received a degree in music from the University of Washington. He performed in concerts around the world. He most recently had been living in New York City.
There will be remembrances of Wolff’s life at the event Sunday. A memorial has been held in New York City, and in late July in North Carolina, there will be the first annual Joshua Wolff Memorial Jazz Festival. The purpose of the festival will be to raise money to help teach music in public schools.
